For those of you who have been to Haiti you know how I always try to use my truck to bless others by giving them rides, today was one of those days and it kind of got the best of me.
I stopped and picked up the usual workers down by the new housing project by mon kabrit and the truck was full but there was a lady standing by herself with a huge bag of charcoal. So I couldn't just leave her so I said put it inside and you can ride inside with me. The bag wouldn't fit so it went up on the top rack over the roof (so love my new cage for the back). When we started driving she started talking saying she had been standing there for hours and no one would stop. She said she was trying to hurry home because she had left her child with a neighbor because someone had offered to give her the bag of charcoal but she had to go pick it up. A bag of charcoal is not a small thing to carry. She had walked a ways but couldn't go any further. It was about 6:30 almost dark when I picked her up. Before the ride was over she was in tears thanking me because she didn't have any money to pay a tap tap to get the charcoal home and had no idea how she would make it.
You just never know when you do a small thing for someone how big it can really be. Overwhelmed by the blessing that my truck is and the reality of being here and a small part of God's plan.
