Blogging

For some reason blogging has not been on my mind or heart lately. It is such a good way for me to process much of what goes on here and share with you. I need to get back in the habit.

I got myself a bit overwhelmed with the schedule for the first part of the year. So many students and so many groups and no free days. But it's never what it seems and God always sends just the right people to bless us and make the trips perfect. Why do I get myself so worked up when I know that God has not ever let me down and always covers everything just perfectly?

January was an amazing month. My cousin was here, I had an extern for thE month and her husband was here for a week plus we had a team for a week. What a blessing each one was to me and to those we worked with. Its not the work we do but the little things that bless the Haitians.

One of the girls spoke French and we had a flat tire while we were getting it fixed she chatted with the guys. They so appreciated her talking to them because they aren't usually people interact with the "blan" (thEy aren't in a church group or a mission etc.). The light shines through in the most unexpected places :). I know they appreciated it because I have had 10 flat tires this month so I spend a lot of time at the tire repair shop and the guys are still talking about how nice they were.

I can't evEn begin to tell you how excited I am about the goat project. We gave out 24 goats for this years class in Merger. Pernier will soon be ready and Sunday I meet with the parents at a new school that will mean 40 new kids. The gang guys are taking a break from goats and having a mini course on electrical wiring - gonna let them do the goat project building we'll see :). The literacy part in the valley is going full swing. I am disappointed we haven't actually had class here in Merger but next week I hope. Its not all roses we continue to battle with the grazing rights and people cutting ropes and killing goats. I have offered what I think are some viable solutions but it is up to the projEct to decide. Frustrating for me is an understatement!

So much more but its a start:)
