GKK Camp

What a blessing! Camp for the kids from Pernier who got their goats in January and for the kids from Merger who are getting their goats tomorrow. 30 wonderful kids and 9 trainers.

We played hard, had teaching on forages, making hay, reproduction, anatomy and nutrition. There were meditations and devotions, swimming and new friends made. This camp was a first - we had kids from 2 different villages and some have goats and some don't. The trainers were nervous about how everyone would get along.

Me I never even gave it a thought. I was just feeling totally unprepared and tired before it started, my tooth issues put me a day or so behind in preparation. I don't know why I am always so amazed when things turn out so well. This project is prayed for and nothing is done without a lot of planning and thought. The planning and thought are great but it is the prayer that makes things special. God always comes through in the most interesting ways .

A good example for this camp was in the prizes. We always have contests to see who has learned what and make sure everyone goes home with something. Me being me and having tooth issues totally forgot about that need. I was reminded about the Q & A and oops no prizes. In my head I'm trying to figure out where I am going to find 30+ things to go buy to hand out.

Then bang into my head pops the teen group from Canada - they left some toys not enough for everyone but a start and then I remembered the group who drilled the well left some shoes and other miscellaneous things. We went through the things and there were exactly 30 things that were appropriate to give to the kids. God never fails to provide!
