I just finished shopping for food for a retreat we are hosting next week. I'm waiting on the others to finish with there part. I have this one guy who always helps me. He gets cabbage leaves for the rabbits and carries my bags. I have given him a bucket and often we have a coke together. Today he started telling me about his family. He was so proud of his brother who had finished high school and one other who is almost finished. He told me all about how his mom sells on Delma. Sometimes she comes down here to the big market and he helps here carry her stuff. He also got to telling me how his third brother taught him how to write his name in 1995 and he hasn't forgotten it. He is probably in his early 40's. He wanted my phone number so he could call me to go visit his mom. I told him no but that one day when I wasn't busy I would come get him and we would go visit his mom.

He really touched me. I don't know what I want to say about this story but it makes my heart happy and sad at the same time and I wanted to share with you.
