The reality of life smacks you harder than others some days. I just helped a lady out a ditch I watched her fall in. When she came to it turns out she fell because she hadn't eaten since yesterday and was 1/3 of the way on her 10 mile walk home from trying to get some food to cook for her family. Her husband had a good job and was killed in the earthquake. Her house fell she and her 4 kids are living in. A tent where the house was. She had been selling stuff from her tent to make a living and New Years Eve thieves broken in and stole everything. Since then she has been borrowing and living off of the generosity of others. We got her some gatorade and a small bowl of rice and she drank the juice and ate about 4 bites of rice and asked for a bag to take the rest home to her kids. Needless to say I am getting her some food to take home and giving her a lift. Probably will invest a bit in helping her get set back up in business.
