I so love having people come to visit - it is a lot of work but the rewards far outweigh the work. The fellowship, exchange of ideas/skills, seeing new places and seeing old ones with new eyes is so great!
We saw some really sick horses today. The wounds from their saddles rubbing are bad enough to make them have systemic infections. I have some of the vet agents going to try some new ways to keep the load off their spines. Working with these horses has always been on my mind from the first time I came to Haiti. The one vet agent told me they have already had one die because of its saddle sores that is beyond horrific.
I am also very grateful for people who care about me. I put a post on Facebook yesterday that said Suicide sucks! Boy did that spark a wave of activity - a couple of phone calls and several private emails to see if I was ok. That is so nice. I so wish that it was so easy to see for those who are in that dark place that there are people who care. I wish I could tell the whole world that dying is not worth it. A friend said something in response to my post that is one of the best things I have ever heard - Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Please everyone tell someone you know that!
